This architectural build was all about fitting in with the native bush and surrounding hill of Mellons Bay to create a split level house with basement garage suitable for the whole family.

Some stand out features include the light box in the roof providing natural light to the south side bedrooms.  The designer kitchen and sloping false facades on the bedroom windows.  It was elected to use external aluminium stacking sliders to meet in post free corners and create a polished concrete entrance.  All this showcases the negative detail cladding to the exterior.

Some construction complexities we needed to overcome included the steep and long right of way driveway, limited site access and storage plus the multiple levels which had to be excavated in a sequence which did not suit normal construction processes.  During construction we also needed to work around and into the bush, manage steel framing with multiple angled walls while ensuring precise cladding and different roofing type transitions.
